Theft of data is one thing but from the way this article is written it sounds like the physical harddrives were stolen. I think Matt’s idea of them selling the old computers makes sense and now they are covering up incompetence with it being stolen. I mean how do you even steal 56 hdd’s stacked on top of each other it would be over 4 feet tall!

There are so many silly remarks we can make about the “head line”, even before we get into the article itself……….

IJ was advertising for a new editor… Maybe they’ll find one… [they used to try and be ‘cute’ but that went over like a lead balloon]
Theft of Hard Drives Costs TN Insurer $7 Million
Is anyone else curious exactly how they lost FIFTY SIX hard drives?
Was it something stupid like they sold some obsolete IT assets and forgot to wipe the drives first? Or trashed intact drives w/ customer data on them?
Was it a targeted hit against their data? A rogue employee?
You know you screwed up when it takes 700 employees and seven million dollars to even figure out the scope of the problem!
