I’m all for providing for the safety and welfare of those living in college dormatories – but this goes a little too far. Install metal detectors if you want (though whoever monitors them will be extremely busy discovering innocent protractors and so forth), but banning visitors? This seems a bit too much to me. I live in Alexander Hall, my buddy lives in some other hall, but we can’t see movies in each others’ dorms because there’s no visitors allowed. Or, I’m visiting my sibling but can’t chill in their room for a bit. Get real people. You can’t protect everybody from everything and you shouldn’t try.
