what are we thinking? does the local government have enough money to keep it’s town going and why should the state step in? do they have enough funding? this is why these local government try to find ways to get money elsewhere. tax breaks should have nothing to do with the safety of a building and person life. most homes are just not big enough to put in a sprinkler system. can you imagine the cost of that and then the price of your home going up to what? i don’t think you’ll find any other breaks for a home with a sprinkler system installed – not even an insurance company. why don’t you force these companies to be safety conscious and get osha involved. after all that is part of their responsiblity of creating a safe environment.

did not know that…cool!…now the sprinkler system somewhat hidden, because it is my home and i don’t want it to stick out like a sore thumb.

Wudchuck, in response to your comments; the average installed cost of a home fire sprinker system is around $2 a square foot. They are actually quite common in a lot of the country and home insurance companies discount anywhere from 5-15%.
