We should be interested in why the ComAir flight was the ONLY one who took the wrong runway. The article says it was not lighted. Of course it wasn’t lighted because it wasn’t supposed to be used. Wouldn’t you expect a pilot to think twice about rocketing down a runwasy wit no lights in a thin metal tube at 110MPH? Shouldn’t they have maybe STOPPED and radioed for instructions if something looked suspicious? Just another case of somebody wanting to blame somebody else for their own stupidity and poor judgement. Papers or no papers, lights or no lights, pilots have the responsibility to exercise EXTREME care. They didn’t and it had a fatal consequence.
so let me get this another view….is it not the co-pilot that is suing? why is he not suing the pilot, since he supposedly is the one in charge of the plane…i know he died, but does that mean he can go after the pilot’s assets? or even the company’s? in reality — tho, he has the same responsiblity i believe as the pilot making sure of the proper things…afterall, they flew into the airport, so they shud have some familiarity of leaving as well…
Mr. Nickel, I agree with you 100%. This is totally a pilot error and he should quit being such a pansy and take full responsibility for it. I am surprised that he hasn’t been sued or maybe he has and now he is trying to get money to pay for that suit, or he is trying to divert that attention to someone else so he doesn’t get sued. Who knows. I say that he is entitled to NOTHING.
