Comair needs to think about how this will play out publicity-wise. Take the blame and get on with it. I will now try to avoid ComAir. The pilots were gabbing away at the wrong time, breaking a cardinal rule of aviation. Their spokesperson even said at the time of the accident that ComAir bears the ultimate responsibility.
Ditto….the finger-pointing going on is a joke; typical abuse of the system which seems to always result in a field day for the ambulance-chasing lawyers; does anyone ever take responsibility anymore??? Speaking as a pilot myself, the pilots were just not paying attention. There are airports all over this country that have construction going on, are not well lit, and have minimal personnel on the airfield. If this is such a major problem, it would have gotten a lot more attention because it would have happened before and more often and this tragedy would probably have been averted. A major part of being a professional pilot, and what is inherently expected of them by unassuming passengers, is that the pilots know where they are at all times.
