Those 2 were not fire eaters, but fire breathers. Fire eating consists of dipping a small torch in Kerosene or white gas and extinguishing it in your mouth by one of several methods. Fire breathing is where they hold the fuel in the mouth and expel it as a fine mist over a flame source to make a ball of fire. Kerosene is not the fuel of choice for either. With some really obvious basic safety, the spectators are pretty safe. The performers are hurt much more often and they should know the risks.

At least that isn’t the worst thing that has happened at an East Tennessee festival; anyone remember ‘Mary the Elephant’?
How does someone eat fire?
who is mary the elephant?
They hold the karsene in there mouth and spit it out over a lit torch creating a flame throwing look. It can be very dangerous.

Sorry, but I’m not going to check out Ralph the Camel either… I just hope it’s all good!
Have a great weekend & no more morbid critter stories – the article was about folks that spew fire – not critter killers!
