Hey PA you better check your facts before typing. This from last August 24 in The New York Times no less:
For the first time in decades, prices for coverage are falling in the state and insurance companies are fighting for drivers’ business. Roadside billboards cry out with special deals; radio and television are peppered with car insurance advertisements.
It is a mammoth change in a state where auto insurance has been a long-running nightmare and it puts New Jersey in line with auto insurance practices in most of the country.
More tellingly, it provides a case study in what happens when competitive forces are unleashed and markets are allowed to operate more freely. And while some drivers are worse off, the vast majority of consumers have gained from the changes.
This non-cancel order is dangerous and here is one reason why: Many of the carriers in Florida were started to take out policices from Citizens. They do not have a lot of surplus. Carriers are restricted to how many policies they can write-it is a function of the surplus. The state can bankrupt these smaller carriers by not allowing them to cancel policies if the ratio is now out of whack due to higher reinsurance costs or even bad losses. All State, State Farm and Nationwide all started smaller Florida only companies to write their Florida business, as did Travelers and others. Can you see the problem now?
I beleive that the emergency order for Public Adjustors just delays your income until what you say is acceptable to the carrier who must pay out. While it may present a hardship, you still get paid.
THe other emergency order preventing insurance companies from controlling their risk exposure could bankrupt them. Big difference between the two.
Maybe I\’m still in the stone ages, but don\’t you always have to wait to be paid until the loss is paid by the insurer, at least in part?
I\’ve got a lot of animosity towards SOME pas who just take advantage of the situation and push everything to arbitration for no good reason. On the other hand, I\’ve worked with PA\’s who are a huge help in getting the loss closed. When I worked in Chicago, it was easier on many cases to have a PA involved, because all you had to do was approve or disaprove his requests and estimate. Yes, you always pay more, but not exhorbitantly more. And in dealing with some of the big guys, I\’d recommend a PA…
So you are one of those sharks that rips off people by way of premiums then when they need you you bolt. You must make one heck of a family man or friend!
Greed will get you eventually.
Don\’t forget YOU and the Ins Co are the ones that mandated insurance in every state but one.
It\’s no wonder everyone hates you people!

Let me ask you Not a public adjuster.You\’ve got to be an underwriter that gets kick backs from raping people. Sleep well at night? I\’m sure you do because in order to do that job you have to be as two faced as the day is new!
How many times have you screwed the companies you underwrite to get the sale,Unethical yes!
Who has to give price breaks to Ins Co to get business? PA\’s and body shops anyone that wants to business and it\’s not isolated to auto, homeowners or liability. It\’s also in medical. All the while YOU people reap the rewards of screwing people. It\’s no wonder people are suit happy.
I can\’t remember the last time I phoned an agent or Ins Co and requested a rate decrease and they said sure no problem with cut your rates increase your declarations and remove deductibles all for less money.

No, I have my pants on.. should I take them off?
I AGREE THAT THE NEW EMERGENCY RULE IS DANGEROUS TO THE COMPANIES, ISN\’T THAT WHAT INSURANCE IS ALL ABOUT? RISK.
I\’M SURE IT\’S NOT GOING TO BE A PERMANENT LAW, SOMETIMES WE ALL HAVE TO GIVE A LITTLE.
I HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE EMERGENCY PUBLIC ADJUSTER RULE THAT\’S NOT NECESSARILY FAIR TO ME, BUT THAT\’S LIFE.
