Behold! The great altruism of a liberal!

Attempting the argument: Breast implants & abortion are elective procedures therefore they are morally equivalent is absurd.

The whole premise is flawed.. if a pregnancy is to be terminated to compassionately save a baby from drug addiction then we might as well share that loving consideration for everyone in rehab.

Why don’t we simply whack everyone in foster homes, on welfare, or homeless right now if they are such a burden to the state? Its a shame that children cause a drain/cost on taxes and welfare programs that liberals likely initiated in the first place…

I did not know: if it wasn’t for abortion those programs would go bankrupt…err more bankrupt. Not a bad thought really, its totally logical – if we mandate abortion (Baby Moratorium) along with Obama’s stimulus plan we can probably turn this economy around!

Last I checked liberals aren’t afraid to tell anyone what they should do under the guise of equity or “fairness”.

I agree LA legislature should not be restricting coverage for what is a legal medical procedure. However I would point out that we “idiot” conservatives want is for people to show some personal responsibility for their actions and take actions to not become pregnant or cause others to become pregnant, and not take illegal drugs. It is also interesting that there are qualificiations for someone to present their opinions when they don’t agree with yours.

So what do you propose to do about the women using legal drugs which might harm a fetus? Or women who get pregnant after their spouse sabotages their birth control? rape victims? children who get pregnant (abstinence only sex-ed for the win!)? This isn’t a cut and dried case of slut shaming, as much as you idiots (quotes not needed) would like it to be.

Still mostly about personal responsibility what I proposed to do about illegal drug users is irrelevant it is what they choose to do, same with most of the other situations you mention. The only item on your insulting message that could be considered not controllable by responsible people is the case of a rape victim. Nothing in my message was aimed a particular sex both share responsibility for their actions here. You will notice that I did not think LA should have legislated on this issue – please read the whole message and save your insults.

I did read your entire message, and found it pretty insulting to insinuate that any woman facing the choice between an abortion or childbirth is somehow not a responsible person. You have no way of knowing the contingencies surrounding a woman’s decision to abort, from a spouse who proved to be unreliable to a job loss to failed birth control and so on, yet you still saw fit to pass judgment. A multitude of circumstances could change at a moment’s notice bringing someone you would otherwise consider “responsible” to this decision. Including both genders in handing down your assessment of character does not absolve you from being a narrow minded idiot.

You sure did read a lot more into my comments than was there but you have convinced me – Lousiana was correct to have legislated against including elective abortion in malpractice insurance in fact they did not go far enough. If the suggestion that people be responsible for their own actions is wrong then why should surgeons be held responsible for their actions either you never know they may be going through a bad divorce, had a bad hair day or whatever other circumstances that may have interfered with their judgement or skill.

Ultimately you hold the only innocent party fatally accountable. Thats the “cut and dried” TRUTH. No matter what scenario you want to create to justify or rationalize your position the above NEVER changes.

Spouse is unreliable, you lost your job, your birth control failed.. so YEA have an abortion to avoid the responsibility of a child because its a little too inconvenient right now. Cry me a river! I guess men, then, shouldn’t have to pay child support when their spouse is unreliable, they lose their job, or birth control failed.

Life is not all about YOU. Quit trying to find dignity in your position and pamper people who do not accept the challenges they are confronted with. No wonder we live in such a nanny-woe-is-me-what-about-my-feelings society.

Personally I think the position that children are a liability is narrow minded & selfish. I also think its kind of narrow minded to think everyone I disagree with is an idiot…

There is no greater calling on earth than to be a mother & you are entitled to your opinion so whatever.

Really now? Do you actually believe a) political stance is inherited like that, b) there are enough abortions to affect elections, and c) liberals are the only people who actually get abortions?

What about the poor kid who WAS born, the unplanned, unwanted, unloved misfit (the prisons are currently full of them) who bring untold sorrow on innocent victims and their families in the form of murder, rape and killings. These people impact society in a sorrowful way.
