Maybe all of these victims, regardless of which neighborhood they live in, should have considered buying flood coverage and insuring thier homes to value rather than complaining about the governement’s plan to bail them out.

    Cheap is as cheap does…

Isn’t one of the basics of claim handling
insured’s are to be made whole again? Isn’t homeowner’s policy replacement cost coverage an additional charge? If you don’t carry replacement cost everything damaged in the loss is depreciated?

It depends on the type of coverage one carries and the endorsements attached to said policy. If the loss was caused by flood, HO does not cover it. If the homeowner did not carry flood ins., n/c for a flood loss. If there was a wind exclusion, no coverage for hurricane damage. So, we need more details. The other point; there is absolutely no correlation between insurance reconstruction value and market value.

The Road Home program sounds like it was formed to aid those who did not carry coverage and lost everything.

I like many out there, do not agree in bailing out those who did not protect their asset in the first place.

Does anyone see the ever present irony in these things? Blacks claim they need more because they are oppressed and discriminated against. When there is actual evidence showing this, they scream and cry and say how dare you! Of course homes in a depressed, drug infested cesspool are worth less. Duh

Puh-leez! That kind of talk does not belong on a business forum in 2008, even if you were trying to be funny.

Let’s get one thing straight. This program was made to BAIL OUT all those who did not have insurance, white and black alike. So yes it should be distrubitued equally among the applicants. Let’s not get racist and say it’s unfair for African Americans to request what was offered to them just because the White American’s have already received their aid and have their homes. If you want to comment, say neither party should get assistance since neither party had coverage for their homes. It’s about being equal. Don’t give others more due to race. That’s the point. So while all of you are on here commenting about African Americans requesting the same, comment on how your White American’s had no problem at all requesting funds as well, which all American’s are paying for.
