Disclosure laws for public service are already in place in most states. LA is, understandably, late to the party. Requiring spouse information just ensures that the board member/state rep/councilman is not influencing contracts where the payoff comes in through the side door.

Yeah, that’s a good question, where is all those Billions that were given to LA for the reconstruction efforts? I bet that is part of what they didn’t want to disclose!
I hope they can get it fixed (their state govt that is) soon & will get the road home opened up to all their citizens that had to find homes elsewhere. New Orleans looks like a ghost town still in some parts.
