Lets see. Your job is to man emergency pumps so that in the event of a flood you can do your job and save lives. Then, when it floods, you leave? Maybe the job should be automated.
My thoughts while reading this article were expressed by plymn and gill, thanks. I can’t believe people like Setton and her little group wanted people to die (while operating the pumps in a huge hurricane) in order to protect their fancy mansions. That stuff is material and replaceable. Human lives are not replaceable. I find Setton and her little group disgusting and sub-human.
Hey Broussard….. just tell them that it was “wind”, not “flood” that caused the damage. The pumps and levees would not have done a dam(sic) thing to prevent the damage to their homes. Then I am sure that all your constituents will be behind you, as they pursue their claims against State Farm and those other carriers.

Little know fact; Mayor Nagin was AWOL during many previous “brushes’ with hurricanes.
George Bush and Dick Cheney bombed it.
You did a heck of a job, Broussie!
So do you make the workers stay despite the evacuation order and risk their death? Imagine then outcry if one of them had died.
Personally if I were one of the workers and was told to stay, I couldn’t say, “I quit,” fast enough.”
