While it is a VERY serious crime, what possibe good can it do to \”wharehouse\” this kid thats just starting his life until he is 40? Do you think he will come out of prison a better citizen because of it? Is that the goal, to get him off the streets for 20 years? Or, should we take a look at the long term goal? A better solution would be to sentance him to 5 years of community service in a burn unit, or something to educate, not just warehouse, and then wonder why hes so screwed up when he gets out of being locked up with real hardened criminals. Its time we figure out prison is not a \”fixall\”. Some people do NOT belong there.
