If President Bush and FEMA would of just taken better care of these face rebuilders there would be no problem.

If you don\’t know the difference between a Good Neighbor and the Good hands People you are not well informed enough to comment

It appears State Farm told the Inusred what the limit was for their flood coverage. Why in Heavens name would State Farm be responsible to the Insured for what another company sells ? I note a post from an agent that said a good agent would blah, blah , blah. I bet he doesn\’t know what everyone else sells. Or, did he go to 30+ different companies agents seminars ? I can see an auto salesman sayin \”we don\’t sell a car that is worth more than $20,000 but if you go to dealer X you can get one.\”

My guess would be that Insurance agent is a receptionist or a file clerk. With fantasyland type advice like that he/she certainly isn\’t making a living selling any product except nonsensical tripe.

Sorry to disappoint but a real licensed agent. And along with some who posted, a good one. Just trying to change the perception the world has of bad, lazy, and incompetent agents – like some who also posted here. Good agents do know their markets and competition and who offers other coverages. Bad ones do not and often only sell that little bit of coverage they represent themselves often hardly understanding it themselves, let alone explaining to a non-insurance professional. That\’s why good agents don\’t have E&O claims. And then others…. just are waiting to happen

In a perfect world you are right.

However, in the real world probably 99% of the agents along the Gulf Coast can not document that they advised their insured to go elsewhere to purchase excess flood. Even if they can, they will have to pay their E&O deductible to respond to the class action litigation.

Most courts say insureds do have some responsiblility to read their policies and not always go for the bottom line pricing.

Attorneys would love to hire you as an expert witness in the class action.

I\’m sure you are a good agent.

I\’m sure that we can count on the fact that you offer excess flood quote on all of your accounts. This is especially the case for all insureds not in catagory A or X along with any accounts you write that have not had a flood claim in the past 100 years. I\’m also sure that we can count on you to offer contingent coverage on all property and liablity situations.

Monday morning quarterbacking makes my job much easier.
