Looks like about $1.8 billion fund to be divided amongst 82,000 claimants, that yields abut $21,000 per claimant and nothing for legal fees. Seems like this is an insufficient fund to resolve the claims. I’d be telling my client to vote no.

No it’s not fair under your jaded reasoning. A “claimant” is a person making a claim. You want to give money to everybody who makes a claim. Whatever happened to proving your claim? If all I have to do to get $21,000 is make a claim, then sign me up. One time a Mormon was mean to me and another time, a catholic priest looked at me funny. So, I should get $42,000, right?

        Sir,

Your comment is completely without merit, demonstrating lack of knowledge of the entire BSA claim process, being brought by over 82,000 former BSA members. Multiple layers of ‘qualifying’ and vetting of claims are some of the portals to join in this suit against the BSA. Ordinarily I would not spend my time responding to such unfounded remarks, but your comments demonstrate lack of knowledge on the topic, and disservice to the process of law.

        Regards,

        RP
        Former BSA in Virginia
