Incorrect title and results. Where ever SF has a large market is where they will get the most results. IN addition, not everyone reports a claim to their carrier. So this information is kind of pointless.

Deer strike statistics have absolutely no relevance to an individual driver’s experience. Deer strikes are not random events. Deer strikes are more or less likely depending on the time of day and type of road and most importantly the attention of the driver.

Stats might have some predictive value for the total number of strikes next year, or number of claims, but the stats have no significance for individuals.

The classic statistical example is getting hit by lighting — obviously everyone’s chance of getting hit by lighting is different and statistics do not mean anything to an individual. Ask an Arizonan who stays in side most of the time versus a Floridian whose favorite hobby is playing golf in the rain.

Deer strikes are very costly, some roads are more susceptible to deer crossings than others. In Albany, NY, there are a high frequency of deer strikes on the Taconic Parkway. It is interesting to see the average cost going down in the last year.
