Unsafe railroad crossings are a two way street problem. Vehicle damages caused by poorly maintained RR crossings across the tracks are difficult if not impossible to have railroad companies to address. Cities, towns, villages are instructed not to perform any type of maintenance and seldom have any results through the railroad maintenance offices. What does an individual do to motivate these companies to make the necessary repairs to correct these deficiencies. There is a crossing at Ransom Road in Lancaster, New York owned by CSX in which not only the timbers along the track are in need of replacement, but the pot hole that is the result of the lumber deflection is getting larger and larger. Never mind that the applied asphalt rises above the track surfaces creating ever more damages to automobile and truck damages to the suspensions at this intersection. How do the cities, towns, and villages including the public reasonably obtain the interests of the Railroads to move on those repairs?
