Sad to see that an Auto Glass Network has to help insurance companies and consumers get quality work and procedures from auto glass companies. Wake up Auto Glass Companies! It is because of Auto glass Companies that do not care, or do, but are not aware of the importance of a complete understanding of adherence characteristics and proper preparation for installation, including paint to primer adherence problems from factory, and using aktivator or other equivalent to clean and prep not only the glass, but also the pinchweld urethane being reused at 2mm height or for preparation of the primer before a pinchweld black primer when the factory paint peels. But most important is that I believe even though installers may understand that the windshield is supposed to have hundreds of pounds per square inch of strength, they do not realize why that is so important and many think they are in fact doing things right while there are contaminants that can only be removed using the proper paper towels and denatured alcohol. Also many installers use a “primerless to glass” glue, but without a completely clean surface such glues cannot yield the proper strength and they may not mean the black perimeter which is more porous than glass and is not glass making the primerless to glass urethane glues almost useless because 90% of windshield have the band painted on where the glue is applied! efef
