Allstate is not the nation’s largest home insurance company.

That’s what insurers do, pay out to people who suffer. That is why we “the people” pay for insurance. If they don’t want to offer insurance for destruction, then don’t. I pay as much in home owners insurance and flood insurance as I do in taxes and I live in NJ.

Weren’t they banking money from all the years that they had profits? The adage of the grasshopper and the ant seems to come to mind here.

I find it hard to garner much sympathy when I’ve never received a refund for monies I’ve paid to them during years that they made a profit. They run a business that, in essence, is legal gambling. Most times they come out winners, but like all gambling ventures, eventually you come up on the short end of the stick.

Great I would rather pay for it this way than administered by an even bigger monopoly which resides in Brussels or somewhere else.

Seriously, who gives a rats a$$. INSURANCE COMPANIES are in the business of INSURING against disasters. That’s why the are paid every month. Every business looses SOMETIMES.

You insurance haters are ignorant. Many companies not only pay claims but donate millions for relief to victims. Insurance is for situations like this yes but they are aloud to speak about the loss ratio too.

Ps. Enjoy your rate increases next year!
