Has Time Come to Cap Whistleblower Awards?

    If plaintiff attorneys believe that this will provide checks on businesses, who is providing checks on plaintiff attorneys? Seems like the fox is guarding the henhouse.

    Maybe the current government can apply a “fair” tax rate of say 90% of the whistleblower’s portion of the recovery. After all, we don’t want anyone to become rich, with the exception of the government.

    If you take away the incentive for whistleblower recoveries, the crooks just get to keep your money. The current method, triple damages with about 15% going to the whistleblowers means the max amount is available to be repaid to the injured parties (mostly the taxpayers).
