This bill is a godsend for agribusiness and will put local growers out of business.
Why e.g. does it prevent farmers from raising their own seed? So they’ll have to buy it from ADM and similar companies who have the requisite $100k machinery to “process” it, yet from time immemorial farmers have been raising their own seed.
Then DELETE or modify the egregious parts of the bill….don’t slink around and not fund so that the valid and needed and useful parts of it are gutted, too.
What is the GOP trying to do….gut every bill that might help the middle or working class?
It’s designed to reduce competition for Big Agro. And you blame the GOP for… what exactly?
Do you want the govt in charge of the food supply? Because that’s what this law would do.
Uncle Sam could say, “Send all XYZ back to the manufacturer” and voila! The world would stand still while an entire product line was recalled without due process.
