Let the natural selection process work. Any cyclist who is dumb enough, stupid enough, ignorant enough not to wear a helmet deserves whatever happens. If these imbeciles don’t care enough about their life, why should anyone else? I’d like to see an exclusion in the cycle policy Med Pay and the major medical policy for any injury that could have been mitigated or prevented by wearing a helmet. We can’t continue to legislate supidity.

If they are allowed out on the public roads, like cars and trucks, they should be required to wear helmets just as people in cars are required to wear seatbelts. Natural selection would go back to work with vehicles too if states repealed their seatbelt laws. No helmet in ANY state should be a defense if a head injury is the result.

Abortion’s a choice but helmuts are mandatory??? Why don’t “we” just ban motorcycles altogether!
Here’s the bigger question; in what part of our Constitution does the Federal Govt have the authority to impose this unfunded mandate. Must be that elusive “Good & Plenty” clause.
