Has anyone heard of a significant shake-up at Am Fam in Commercial Lines? I’ve heard that they are finally reunderwriting, trying to have some discipline, and are pulling in the reins on the commercial lines idiots that they call agents?
They are tightening up the risks that are acceptable. As a former AmFam agent, I now have unlimited markets to write the items that they are not doing. Last I heard they were not doing much in construction. When I was an agent, they looked like they were setting up to be bought. They were putting huge amounts in reserves at the time. They have a lot of agents that are not trained properly on commercial. For most risks, its easy pickins.
