I agree with you KLS, im worried about global warming, it is a very serious issue that the Republicans are really behind on – But to suggest that we will be taking boats to work is just over the top – Things arent going to get that bad any time soon. I think youve been listening to Al Gore too much lately.
issue! flood! um…so a heavier car wud mean i cud possibly stand ON MY ROOF and possibly survive….. DON’T think so!
LOL! fact of the matter is, roof’s don’t throw folks out of the car. neither do loose doors. if that person is wearing a seatbelt, he will remain inside the vehicle. next thing you’ll probably see is a permanent locking door that can’t open during an accident and windows automatically sense an accident and close quickly with steel enclosed windows… um… what are we screaming about?! i think that legislature need to properly review their own driving skills and then check to see the real problems their voters need solved.
I know of an accident (pickup) where the vehicle rolled, both were wearing seatbelts and the driver died from head injury. The passenger survived with injuries only because they were shorter.
Knowing nothing about engineering etc, because of this example, I would support some sort of requirement for increased rollover protection.
Sorry Mike, but all these safety measures are simply denying me, as a member of the mammals at the top of the evolutionary ladder, my Darwinian RIGHT to cleanse the genepool of stupidity. 10000 people roll, 10000 people die…that is as Darwin says it SHOULD be. Too stupid to drive then either don’t drive, or die.

Let’s see; 10,000 dead v. Safer cars—LET’S KILL THE PEOPLE!
We can take out those pesky seatbelts & airbag too.
