I agree with Al, the last thing I would wish on my family are the problems brought on by sexual infidelity. I am a Japanese decendant and know something about the culture, so to me this story is very believeable.

I may have attended a strip club or two with business associates when I was single, but now that I am married I won’t even do that. I honor my wife.

If my boss tried to talk me into a brothel, I would not so kindly tell him that he could get his kicks out of shoving my job where the sun don’t shine.

When you’re a foreigner who accepts a job with a local company, it’s your problem not theirs to deal with their culture or get out. Nobody should expect another country to change it’s morales and or customs and or habits to accomodate one person. If he didn’t like it he should have simply quit and found another job in a culture he did some “due diligence” on before he accepted the job.

I agree. There’s less basis for a lawsuit here than for a look askance if not a punch in the schnoz. The offended guy should have walked away the first time, and the offender should have apologized rather than force disease-ridden public toilets on an employee.

I had a customer tell me that I was going to take him to a strip joint for lunch, and I just ignored him and went to lunch where the waitstaff were fully clothed. He dropped us, so we don’t get his business any more, but neither do I have to deal with lowlife like him.

Anyone know how strip joints came to be known as “gentlemen’s clubs”? The word gentleman means “well bread,” connoting that one’s ancestors were not lowlifes. It’s related to genteel, gentry, generation, genesis, etc.

By the way, are morales anything like tomales?

Someone decided to lend an air of respectability to them, just like low-life pond scum is known as attorneys or politicians. No offense intended to pond scum.

Claims Guy, this guy didn’t work in Japan. He worked in the US branch of a Japanese company (yes, one incident did occur while the man was abroad). The Japanese company doing business in the U.S. should have more respect for U.S. culture. Although based on some of these posts, it would seem strip clubs and brothels may be an accepted part of U.S. culture to some. VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!!
