Another federal give-a-way we can’t afford. Crop insurance is sold for this very reason. If the farmers don’t want to buy it, they shouldn’t receive any aid.
being able to use private CRP ground for grazing due to fires or drought might be okay, but the huge subsidies given out to wealthy farmer and ranchers is outrageous.
several million acres of western rangeland has burned recently ,and just watch the conservative republicans want to start throwing money out because cattle ranchers can’t continue to use & abuse public property, and greatly reduced rates, to graze their cattle.
Think about what you just said when you order your next steak!! Most of the farmers and ranchers in this country do not receive large government payouts. Most are just families that are trying to make a living. Granted there are some really large producers that get about 90% of the susbsidies. I agree that these few need to have a limit. But don’t chastize all farmers and ranchers as getting rich off the government. I know, I had farms and I made very little from subsidies. Unless you have walked in their shoes, you should not be so quick to judge.
