Ah, but you know some people. They think we try to push “unnecessary” policies/coverages onto them because we want to make more money from them. They hate that.
I remember trying to explain coverages to someone, and she snapped, “I have to be somewhere else, I am buying this policy because my mortgage company won’t let me buy the house without it.”
Doesn’t this sound great! Instead of trying to solve our Country’s real problems, we’ll just further explore the claims problems from Katrina. Thanks Congress!
Well geez, Key West agent, you know as well as I do that there hasn’t been NEARLY enough money spent on Katrina/ Rita claims issues already! I mean really, we’ve got all that Social Security money just laying around- we ought to do something with it.
to just continue blaming the insurance industry for all the problems? Why go through the hassle of providing clarity so that consumers, insurance companies and big government can figure out who does what during and after a catastrophe?
Where is the fun in that?
Congress can debate all they want but reality is that NFIP does work, as long as people buy coverage. When they don’t buy coverage they try to turn a dog into a cat by using homeowners insurance. Second, stuff by the ocean is expensive to insure because it’s gonna get trashed.I love how Senator Trent Lott can say he did not know what flood insurance provided when he’s voted to fund it over a dozen times. He admits he does not know what he’s spending our tax money on. Face it folks, you were too cheap to buy flood insurance and nature kicked your butt. Every insurance agent will try to sell you flood insurance anywhere because they make a commision from it. You got what you paid for.
