I think these recalls are getting out of hand. Our screwed up tort system has companies so fearful that they will get nailed with a big verdict that they are recalling things that have never happened and may never happen.
OK, the screw might come out. A kid might grab it and put it in their mouth. As if their aren\’t a million other things a kid could put in its mouth it shouldn\’t.
When I started reading the article, I thought that maybe the screw came loose and the handle came apart from the seat and the children were dropped. That seems like a feasible reason for a recall. Recalling a seat because it may leave something additional for the kid to chew on seems a little excessive to me.
