States Lack Controls Over Workers’ Comp Drug Costs

    Hello??? Everything costs more when it\’s paid by an Insurance Company – it\’s all extremenly inflated – drugs, care, etc… Why?… Because they can!

    Not always true CLR. Take a look at what companies like CIGNA and Blue Cross are doing. They negotiate lower rates because they have the ability to influence who their insured\’s go to.

    In the case of WC, insurance companies must generally rely on reasonable fee schedules to save. Why not extend the fee schedule to the pharmacy.

    Of course, large companies, with employee located in a central location, have the option of controlling drug cost dramatically by opening their own pharmacies and buying the drugs wholesale from the manufacturers.
