Just curious. Does RiskMeter give the distance to the closest fire station or the distance to the first responding station? The difference has to do with the municipality and which fire companies they request to respond. Some municipalities only allow their own fire companies to respond on an initial call. There are situations in PA where first due fire companies drive past the front doors of closer fire companies because these other fire co.s are in another town. I could be 1/2 mile from the closest station, which happens to be located in another town, and 4+ miles from the fire company first due at my house or business. With this in mind, which has more reliable data, RiskMeter or ISO. (I don’t work for ISO. I have been a paid or volunteer firefighter for over 25 years, and have 20 years experience in loss control.) As I said, I’m just curious.
