In researching looks like Bryant was charged with arson and first degree murder in 2002 but the judge declared a mistrial. In 2006 the Supreme Court ruled that because the defense objected to the mistrial state prosecutors could not retry Bryant under the “double jeopardy” provision. Thesse dirt bags received substantial homeowners and life insurance payment from this fire of well over $200,000. Prosecutors are not giving up. They could actully still bring federal murder charges. Not sure why Kemper was not charged with murder. Who starts a fire with a 15 year old child sleeping in the basement? They both need to “burn” in hell!
