You like to paint with an awful broad brush. That argument would give license to control every aspect of everyone else’s lives. You must have a list of everyone costs me money a mile long and that, my friend, is scarry. You have missed the point entirely and that is the excersize of government control over its citizens. While there are bright lines that need to be drawn for the public good, you and I differ on when and where they should be placed. I appreciate your comments, we will just have to agree to disagree whether the lines are to your left, or my right.
Sorry Tom, your freedom is not free. Until the law changes to take your unlimited medical protection out of my pocket you should not be free to make that choice. I agree to disagree with you. Don’t mistake me for a liberal, far from it. The medical payments law here is liberal, not me.
One last point. In the macro view, the cost of medical, be it auto or health, is shared by everyone in one way or another. In this country medical care is provided to everyone through insurance, government assistance, or charity. Uninsured drivers also cost moeny but my point all along is that using cost as the sole driving basis for government control is yielding power to the government, a gift that should be given sparingly. I will beat this dead horse no more. I do appreciate your spirited commentary.
Wudchuck: Part of your post is correct ….we are a No-Fault State, but that pertains to physical damage to an auto and Personal Injury Benefits (unlimited lifetime medical coverage, lost wage and loss of service coverage too)
I think you are right. Why not open up all types and manner of drugs altogehter, that way we save money by not having pharmacists. I don’t mind the 80,000# trucker behind you being a stoner or toothless meth user.
