Isn’t the whole point of unemployment to keep people alive long enough for them to get another job? Yes, they’ll fall behind on a few bills, but once they get a new job, they can work on getting caught up. It appears in Indiana that they want unemployment to be the next career path. Let’s give them a raise and extend their benefits. Nice. And let’s make the current businesses pay for it. Then they’ll pay their workers less money to pay the higher tax, which in turn will make the workers try to get fired to get on the “no work” plan. Nicer! Anyone know how much they’re going to pay? Maybe I’ll move there and start my early retirement!

i don’t blame one party, i blame the who institution… my son has been laid off twice for the past year… he tried to get a medical/sick paid for 1 week while out because he was sick and it was denied by the union, although it was paid out to another person for the exact same reason. now the unemployment folks now told him that he’s been paid twice for that week, even though he never got anything from the union for his sick week. and now he’s got to wait another week for another check from unemployment.. sucks when it’s time for rent!
