Whoa! Would you rather fight the fire all by yourself or have, maybe, 1, 2 or 3 other people helping you. Anytime people band together to fight fire or crime or waste – whatever – it is better than doing it on your own.
Banding together to fight a fire is fine, but wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars on firefighting equipment for something less than a village is ridiculous. That’s why most sane people live in larger towns/cities where there are economies of scale and budgets for these kinds of services.
