Now that there is a casino barge open for use, perhaps some of the Katrina storm residents at the casino barge down in Bridgeport, MS can be relocated. The barge in MS has been thoroughly trashed by those Katrina victims (aka deadbeats) and they now are in need of a gentler/kinder environment for their stay.

Where is the WH when you need it to step in and take over a business for the needs of the people???

That’s a huge number and it does not sound like it includes BI. Who’s the carrier(s)? I sure hope the UW had the right reinsurance on this thing!

Again, the interesting part of this is who was writing the $350 Million of insurance
necessary to rebuild. We don’t learn anything from reading about these events unless we know the interesting stuff that never seems to be in the INSURANCE Journal articles. Maybe it was self insured. Who could afford to write a half million a day of BI? It would probably take the biggest insurance company in the world to handle it. Gee whiz, who would that be? AIG? They’re in good shape, huh? The other alternative would be to start up again and take the “reported” half milllion and add in the daily amount skimmed off (ie. un-reported) and they can pay for it in about a year anyway.

An Empress spokesman says insurance agents are still working on their own estimates. So the agents have to do the estimates? Is that right?
