I’m still trying to figure out HOW these exams are discriminatory-Are all over 40 year old fire fighter stupid? Are these exams written in ebonics or teenage texting language? This is like one of those riddles on the standard IQ test – you know where they want to know if Mary and Jane are the same height and Flo is 4 inches taller than Mary, how tall is Cindy ? Can I have 2 million dollars if I get the right answer?
well, it should be equality for all. it should equal for all, there should not be a biased based on anything. our times should have changed. it should not matter any more if you are black, white, purple or polka dot! what should matter is can you do the job and be legal, including citizenship.
Wudchchuck – shall we have these exams written in several languages to accomodate everyone as well? I am still waiting on an answer as to HOW a WRITTEN EXAM can be discriminatory – either these people can’t read, OR the exams are written in a language not recognizable to the average AMERICAN – this mystifies me ! PS I doubt you can be a City employee ie firefighter if you are not an American-DUH!
