This was a horrific, inexcusable accident. But since “it’s never about the money”, why enrich the surviving parents of the victim? Everytime they look at their new home and cars they’ll have to remember it was at the cost of the daughters life. Sound ghoulish to me. The settlment net of expenses an a reasonable amount of general damages should go into a fund to help prevent this kind of needless tragedy instead of making one family rich.
You can’t put a dollar value on children. That’s the lunacy of our legal system. Personal injury attorneys have sold the concept of “compensation”. Don’t mean to sound pollyannish, but I’m not sure any amount of money would make me feel any better under the circumstances.

Sure wish my kids were worth $8mm when they were six. Like you said, Ann…it’s never about the money.
Ann and Valuation,
And just what are your kids worth? Care to roll that price out?

My kids are well over six now, but even at that $8mm is way too much.
