My refrigerator has some moldy tomato on the third shelf. How do I contact FEMA? $100,000 should make me feel better.

People are angry? the’re getting a handout because they didn’t have flood insurance and they’re angry? Here’s some “free” advice to all you angry Iowans (and to those of you that it applies I’m sure you won’t appreciate it because it’s free) Get some cleaning solution and rags and clean it up or go find a place you have to pay for.

The first part of the article talks about anger but the end of it says the people decided to stay living in them because they posed no danger. If I was angry, I’d switch trailers unless I’m planning a lawsuit down the road. Why hasn’t our government learned anything yet? Don’t give out trailers. Let people find their own shelter. I’m sure most have families somewhere they could live with. Let’s cut taxes instead of giving handouts to spoiled rotten Americans that expect everything for nothing (not all of us are like this, but the few complainers are making us mad!)!

Where does it say in the Bill of Rights that the tax payer must fix all the problems of the stupid. Build a house in the river valley, don’t take insurance and when it floods make the tax payer fix it.

There were thousands of people displaced from their homes, have a little compassion. Most of these people were in 500 year flood zones, not really expecting a flood. I’m sure they appreciate any help that is provided, but would maybe expect that the temporary home that was provided to atleast not be harmful to their health. It wasn’t their cleanliness (or lack of) that casued this problem, it’s a defect in the construction of the mobile home. Not FEMA’s fault, not the fault of the people from Indiana and Iowa. LAY OFF!

You people have no compassion for others. I guess you are all perfect! You are all so judgmental! Why shouldn’t we help people who are facing disaster, why shouldn’t they expect assistance? We help other countries, but we have problems helping our own people! Do not judge until you have walked in their shoes. Shame on all of us!

I have sympathy for those suffering disasters. My problem is that mold seems to have recently become some kind of huge problem. Why only recently? Is this a new strain of mold or a new trial lawyer source of income? Those are my questions.

Are you kidding me? “Get a rag and clean it up yourself?!?” My family lost their HOME because their ENTIRE TOWN (Palo) flooded – they had NEVER even had water in their backyard before, much less their basement. There was no reason for them to need flood insurance – if you really are an Iowan, I would say that we are ashamed to have you. I am disgusted.

The thing about the mold being a big deal at this point, if you ask me, is that these people whose houses have been flooded have spent the last month and a half trying to STOP mold from growing in their basements, their living rooms, their bed rooms… they had to throw away all of their belonging, furniture, etc. because there was a risk of black mold growing in it. So, FEMA is helping out by providing trailers, that is great – FEMA has been amazing – but the fact that there was MOLD in the trailers, and these victims have been trying to get away from MOLD, i can imagine its frustrating.
