yeah, it’s allot of money, but where’s the compassion for the child who will live out his life with brain damage?

Sorry, I feel for the victim in this case. Our first child should have been taken caesarian, but the doctor was in a hurry and needed to go on vacation, so he used a suction device, too. Fortunately, my son didn’t suffer brain damage. That doctor did other damage that I won’t mention; we’re not suit prone, most would have sued him. We switched doctors. I wouldn’t have felt so forgiving if my son suffered brain damage due to his negligence.

Does your kid have an elongated penis or something? I wouldn’t sue either.

I would be more okay with these amounts if the lawyers didn’t get so much and if the money was placed immediately into a trust for the care of the injured person.

What in hell is the matter with you? Why should she have had an abortion? It says the boy suffered these ailments due to the suction, it does not say he had them prior to that. Even so, you apparently have no children to even be able to suggest such a horrible thing.

There’s nothing wrong with abortion, though the poster should have remembered that third-trimester abortions have been illegal in all states for about a decade now. You can’t abort during birth – it doesn’t work that way.

Not even with a suction hose? Maybe thats what the Dr. was trying to do when he saw what it looked like.

believe it or not, there are some bad doctors out there who do stupid things. If this child was brain damaged due to the negligence of the doctor, the aware may not cover the care needed for life; we don’t know as there aren’t many facts given. I’m not pro lawsuit, but if someone causes a real injury via negligence, they should be held financially responsible for that negligence. Good grief folks, most of our positions exist due to the need for compensation due to negligence.

The level of some of the comments out there are downright sick; this is a child who was evidently badly injured, note this was a SETTLEMENT, he/she was not a clump of cells to be thrown to the side of the road because it might have been convenient.

claimsguy – she’ll put the kid in a home and get a facelift and new boobs while sucking down a cocktail in Tahiti.
