And you wonder why the last one fell down?
This is a pretty corrupt process. The federal govt should just take over.

so we replace a “semi-corrupt” process with one that is likely much more corrupt and laced with nepotism, cost over-runs, and given to the lowest bidder that will invaribaly end up costing more then the highest bidder? sounds like a great idea.

I don’t think a report has been issued yet, has it?? And if not, what design preparations have been made to make sure there is not a reoccurance?

I would hate to see more lives endangered.

That bridge did perfectly well for decades w/o incident. The only variable seems to be the construction that was going on at the time. It could be that nobody bothered to check the weight load limit before parking (and leaving) multiple pieces of heavy equipment on the span.

I remember watching the I-90 floating bridge sink into Lake Washington(Seattle)back in the early ’90’s. Construction taking place on the road surface led to its demise. I won’t get into details but it was clear that the practices of the contractor took the bridge down.

Wouldn’t want to be the surety on that one……
