I am glad to see the governor of Iowa is like the Florida folks, and thinks that “other people’s money” should be used for those folks who lost their homes. What about relying on their homeowners insurance first (and showing some personal responsibility) instead of asking for a handout?
I couldn’t agree more, but this seems to be the thing to do these days. If you’re the governor you immediately ask for Federal aid, which may or may not come in one form or another. It’s the American way.
Exactly my sentiments. There is no reason for any federal aid after a tornado. The most basic property policy provides coverage for tornados. Most individuals would have a homeowners policy which also pays for additional living expense.
It would also be refreshing to see some response along those lines from the insurance industry.
With respect to positive news, the industry seems to be the silent majority.
