Ohio Gov. Bob Taft this week signed the following bill, which will be filed with the Secretary of State’s office.
House Bill 175, sponsored by State Representative Stephen Buehrer (R-Delta) , establishes a state residential building code; makes changes in the laws governing residential construction; and establishes a “right to cure” procedure under which a residential contractor may cure a defect prior to an owner commencing arbitration proceedings or a civil action.
The bill goes into effect 90 days after it is signed by the Governor and filed with the Secretary of State.
