Isn\’t that what all of us are? People with opinions?

He says some off-the-wall stuff, but his ideas, if nothing else, are thought provoking.

Although I don\’t agree with a lot of what he says, I don\’t believe he is a stupid man.

Why generally assume that people of opposing opinions are of lesser intelligence?

Why does disagreement with his ideas or opinions make him a moron?

    Slim,

Just so I\’m clear, you\’re saying that if your country is occupied by a foreign force, and you rise up to expel them, that makes you a terrorist?

Many people all over the world hate George Bush as much as many Americans hated Saddam Hussein. I\’m not comparing the two from an idelogical standpoint, I\’m just saying there are many folks (that if they had the ability) would love to come to this country and expel his administration. For the sake of argument, say that did happen, are you telling me you wouldn\’t rise up. Maybe you wouldn\’t. I certainly would.

There are many folks who lie for a living on the right that are celebrated by your party. Rush Limbaugh, Bill O\’Reilly and Sean Hannity have all been debunked time and time again. These are men that base their entire persona on inciting their uninformed listeners with exaggerated and mostly false statements and reports.

There are many forces at work in Iraq. There are insurgents (independent), there are insurgents (Al Quieda), there are the Americans, the Britons, Sunni citizens both regular and militia and Shia citizens both regular and milita. All have their own agendas, and they all think they are right. Many Iraqis want us gone, and to simply express that not all people that stand up and act are terrorists should be obvious.

Oh, and as far as Jimmy Carter goes, let me know once you get your Nobel Peace Prize. Oh, wait, you\’re on the right, you hate peace.

I just woke up from a really wierd dream… in it Michael Moore was relevant and people took him seriously.

Maybe the people who do are also asleep.

How does this self-promoting, ego-meniacal, spin doctor keep getting so much press for his juvinile \”films\”?

Michael\’s movies are awesome!! I can\’t wait to see this one. Bowling for Columbine, Roger & Me, Farenheit …all classics. All with a nice twist of humor on serious subjects. Just one person\’s perspective in a documentary style. I think they\’re genius. And I\’m middle of the road conservative. Not too far right, yet somewhat liberal on some subjects. All that aside, I love his movies. They\’re very compelling. You just cant let yourself get all amped up over them because at the end of the day, it\’s just his viewpoint, or at least the viewpoint he wants to get across. That\’s what makes this country so great. Why isn\’t there someone out there making movies on the same subjects showing the other side of the coin? There could some opportunity there for some up & coming filmmaker.

Actually, there are a lot of people who make movies showing the other side of the coin.

I\’m not going to get into a whole \”liberal media bias thing\” but you don\’t hear about those movies because they\’re rarely reported outside \”right-wing whacko\” newsgroups and forums. Michael Moore\’s movies are the media\’s darlings because he knows how to position them (i.e. open them in socialist \”democracies\” that hate the US but have big film fests.

There\’s a lot of websites, forums, message boards, book clubs, movie review sites that could be recommended but that\’s not the point here.

Blondie, I enjoyed your post and couldn\’t agree more. It is hard to keep the focus on the real issues when debates always spiral down to name calling: \”libs\” etc….it is easier to put a tag on someone and then bash them than to actually engage the issue: the lack of health care for most \”Americans\”…yes, not just the immigrants, legal or otherwise, but for those other folks we see but ignore, the working poor. But since this is America, and everyone has the \”same\” opportunity to enrich themselves, those who \”squander\” the chance to get rich and can\’t pay their own way should just \”die and reduce the surplus population\”; I mean are there no work houses? are the prisons all full? (sarcasm fully intended….) I don\’t care much for Michael Moore but I have to give him credit for at least getting the issues out in the open, where Americans just MIGHT do something about them instead of point and wag their fingers…..

So you are able to see through Michael Moore\’s \”outright lies and distortions of truth to skew things to support his view\”….and who\’s view of the world do you subscribe to? Use that same jaundiced eye to look at the pablum we were fed after 9/11….Saddam is dead but Osama still can\’t be found? I suppose you believe Alberto Gonzalez has the same faulty memory that afflicts Scooter Libby? Can\’t see through those \”outright lies and distortions of the truth?\”

    Conservative commentators are truth disseminators?

WE DON\’T GET THE TRUTH FROM ANY MASS MEDIA OUTLET.
