Using up to date figures, the world would have to cut global emission 80% (from 2007 levels) by 2050 to have a 50% chance of avoiding dangerous warming. Since developing nations would get to catch up on their per person emissions, developed nations would have to cut over 90%!

Since that is unrealistic, I suggest improving nature\’s ability to remove the CO2 from the air using genetic engineering-perhaps seed a GMO into the ocean. That is a low cost, scalable, and scientifically feasible method (per experts I\’ve consulted).

The US cut their emissions over 90% by 2050, and then only for a 50% chance, while China and India dramatically increase their emissions?? I can\’t imagine a more politically impossible policy to ask the American people to OK.

What are we going to do, turn down the sun? Alter ocean climates? Stop undersea volcanoes from erupting? What arrogance.

Of course the Earth is warming as we\’re just coming out of the Little Ice Age.

This is a politician\’s way to increase taxes to fund more government jobs, create more Democrats and bigger government.

I know, it\’s so funny to read articles about \”global warming\” when they spend two paragraphs trying to convince you that \”most scientists\” believe it is warming and that it\’s man\’s fault. I remember the first \”Earth Day,\” when dopes were holding up signs saying \”End Global Cooling.\”

Oh yeah, by the way, \”Earth Day\” is Lenin\’s birthday. Coincidence?

Is the Insurance Journal yanking our chains? Did you see the last two sentences of this article:

\”Perhaps few people will agree with all of its conclusions; some may not agree with any of them. But one thing is certain, choosing to ignore the perils of climate change in the hopes that it will just go away is not an option; it\’s a road to disaster.\”

Who\’s opinion is this anyway? Is it the IPCC\’s or the author of this unsigned article.

    and then, this one:

\”…world\’s major polluting nations, led by the U.S., are willing to take those measures.\”

How insulting to us. Isn\’t China # 1 at pollution? Check this website:

    http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/view_rec.php?id=1036

I think this is the group who is going to make make these decisions, and China is exempt.

    What a crock.

Hey Bill Nye the Science guy… Scientists agree that Global Warming exists. To try and refute that with a 6th graders science comment like \”duh, it\’s warming up because we\’re coming out of the little ice age\” is irrelavent and misinformed.
Earth Day was established by the Secretary General of the United Nations (which is not separated by Democrats and Republican\’s) at the suggestion of Wisconsin\’s Senator Nelson. Nelson was a Democrat who served 18 total years for the state and was 1 of only 2 Democrats ever elected in Wisconsin. If a Republican state would hold this Democrat in office for so long while he was proposing such – as you seem to believe – fictitious and conspiracy laid movements, it then looks as though he must have been doing something popular and quite believable. Seems like the \”irony\” behind Earth Day being the same as Lenin day is also an irrelevant and misinformed comment.

\”They want hard answers to what is probably the 21st Century\’s defining concern.\”
*yeah, forget about dealing w/ unquestioned issues, like Islamic extremist terrorism, genocide, and things like the AIDS epidemic. let\’s focus on controlling the weather instead. there\’s a Nissan plant in Canton, MS that has hail cannons that blast storm clouds w/ air to prevent hail from forming. maybe we should put Nissan in charge of stopping global warming.
and if electricity usage is helping cause global warming, why don\’t we use more nuke power which is clean and almost emission-free? oh, that\’s right, the liberals and environmentalists won\’t let us build them…

So what ended the Ice Age, genius? Global warming. Look up in the sky at that big burning thing. Maybe it has something to do with temps.

The Green movement is a socialist front attempting to wrest control of your life from you by regulating human activity to death in the name of saving the earth from humans.

Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl, the current senators from WI, are both Dems, genious.

The UN is a commie front run by dictators, Muslims (sorry for the redundancy) and commies. Why wouldn\’t they put \”Earth Day\” on Lenin\’s birthday? May Day was already taken.

You are so woefully uninformed that it\’s no wonder that you believe in anthropogenic global warming.

Hey, y\’all, we fixed global warming down here in Texas with air conditioners. Works pretty good every summer.

Oh stop that, you\’ll make a greenie cry talking like that. They want to feel good about themselves what with all their high-minded concern for the climate, and here you go and poke fun at their cherished cause. Shame on you for not wanting to save the world.
