Another knee jerk reaction to one incident. The woman who died was 88 years old, It happened at 2:00pm when her clothing allegedly got caught in the escalator. She is alleged to have lost her balance and fell backwards. The escalator was operating properly. There were no defects. How she got clothing caught in the stairs remains to be seen. It is alleged she was “going to work” when this happended. At 2:00pm in the afternoon? I doubt it. Maybe she simply lost her balance, panicked, and fell. Why was she the only one who had a problem with the escalator that day? The people interviewed complained that the escalators frequently breakdown. Maybe that’s because of the tens of thousands of people who use them daily. In any event, a breakdown had nothing to do with this incicent. At 88 years old she should have been at home watching Oprah.
