Why is it that no one will accept personal responsibility for causing an accident? Contrary to the information in this article, the speed limit there was 40MPH, not 50MPH. This woman was familiar with the road and was estimated to be doing 68 MPH. That’s a significant issue. The weather wasn’t a factor and the roadway was dry. Everybody else negotiated the same area without a problem, so why not her? In a hurry? On a cell phone? Lack of experience? Since most people who travel that route know it’s somewhat dangerous, all the more reason to slow down and protect themselves and their passengers. In the heart of a large metro area, there isn’t enough money to re-engineer the road to idiot-proof it for everyone. Tragic as this was, the driver could have prevented it.
