A state House committee is set to discuss a bill requiring commercial vehicles in Delaware to be equipped with reverse warning systems.
The bill before the public safety and homeland security committee on Wednesday requires commercial vehicles to have audible warning signals that would alert anyone within 50 feet that the vehicle is backing up.
The bill would apply to commercial vehicles weighing more than 26,000 pounds that are registered on or after Jan. 1, 2013. Farm vehicles would not be covered by the measure.
