New Jersey needs to do what many other states are doing and that is retaining the services of a professional legal auditing company. It is basically a fiscally responsible thing to do require each law firm to adhere to comprehensive billing guidelines and if none are available then the law has billing protocols that law firms have to comply. This needs to be done immediately before the situation gets further along without oversight and the bottom line in all law firms may be found to be in full compliance. This is basically a win win for all parties because if the firms are in full compliance then it serves to strengthen the relationship and if they are not in compliance then each firm can have the opportunity to modify thier biling practices.

New Jersey should the list of many other states that are having their Legal fees and expenses audited by an independent legal auditing company. Every aspect of state government is subject to oversight and the question is why not firms doing business with the state or as in this case a judge has ordered the state to pay legal fees nd expenses that they had absolutely no control. I believe the state has every right to question these fees and is is simply the fiscally responsilble thing to do before the taxpayers foot this expense.
