    Governments don’t just get to keep raising taxes. Cut whatever needs to be cut. NYC has many entitlement programs. Cut these to whatever level is required to meet budgets.
    This is called fiscal responsibility.

    The Assoc. President’s point demands a response from those looking for another cash cow to milk.
    Targeting auto accident participants for “costs” while ignoring other similar services or criminal activity is double taxation and could even create an economic Caste system benefiting the more lucretive incidents at the expense of the poorer ones.

    As a former claims adjuster, we have fought paying these fees for years. This is not how gov’t should boost revenue. Police departments and fire departments are paid to do a job and this is a part of their job – responding to emergencies. Why should consumers have to pay for this TWICE (once thru taxes and again in the form of a bill).
