Now comes the grieving father and his ambulance chasing attorney who smell money to be made over this tragedy. Did anyone bother to test his daughters BAC? She apparently got into the vehcile voluntarily. If she was drunk she was negligent in compromising her ability to perceive a danger. An what will a monetary award accomplish? The unfortunate and pathetic reality of our society is that personal injury attorneys have brainwashed people into thinking justice = money. This is what makes the legal profession prosper even in bad economic times.

A drunk driver kills someone and you say blame the victim.

The only pathetic thing here is your post.

Not necessarily the system’s fault. How about the slime bucket, money grubbing, bottom scratchers pursuing a suit? JS, Reese is not blaming the victim, just pointing out the culpability.

It’s entirely possible that the loss of control could have occured even if the driver hadn’t been drinking. This isn’t like the driver was an irresponsible repeat offender. It sounds like a couple was out having a good time and had an unfortunate accident on the way home. How does throwing money to the surviving parent make a difference here? I’m sure the old man didn’t depend on his daughter for support. Once the funeral expenses were paid, any award should be directed to an organization that educates the public on driving under the influence. In the meantime, the righteous attorney picks up a cool 40% on a slam dunk case. Muste feel good waking up everyday, looking in the mirror, and knowing your sole purpose in life is to exploit the misfortunes of others for profit.
