Even IF her allegations prove to be true, what’s the point of $24,000,000? The drug mfg. liability carrier will pay it so the company isn’t being taught a lesson. The attorney will get almost half of that if she wins. And since she’s a blind, physical wreck, what will she do with $12,000,000? Our pathetic legal system still hasn’t found a better equation than MONEY = JUSTICE.

Donovan, I have to disagree with you. I looked up some information about Steven Johnson syndrome and it appears that it is an allergic reaction to certain drugs. Per the article, this drug has 89 incidents of this syndrome happening. I don’t know about you but in my book – Thats ALOT!! Of course, all medications carry the risk of side effects but this is alot different than getting a headache or upset stomache. After this many incidents the drug should’ve been pulled off the market. I also have to question the judgement of the DR who prescribed this to her. As far as the monetary award – If she is awarded this amount I say she deserves every penny for all her pain and suffering.
